Stand up paddle boards can be heavy. Save your energy for the water and invest in a SUP Sling. Some parking lots are just too far from the water and the right sling can help you carry your board long distances with minimal energy excretion. They can also be worn around your body when you hit the water so you always have it when you need it. Below is our top pics for some of the best SUP slings on the market.

curve sup sling SUP Sling

On of our favorites slings is the Curve SUP Sling shown above. This sling  has multiple hand grips making it the ideal sling for any SUP. Not only does it allow you to easily carry your SUP around with ease, but once wrapped, this sling helps protect it as well with added foam padding. The Curve sling also has a large pocket for your wetsuit, towel, or any other gear you may be carrying. Regardless of the features, the real reason this sling is one of out top picks is it’s ease of use. You simply wrap your board around the one piece design and your off.

Another popular sling for your SUP is the Surftech sling. This sling is somewhat simliar to the curve sling, but doesn’t have the full body enclosure. It also has a much smaller pouch. Nevertheless, this sling still offers multiple ways to carry your SUP to and from the water, making it one of the top slings you can buy. It also has velcro, rip and go straps to store your paddle.

Our last and final sling is the Big Board Schlepper. This sling is the simplest of the slings, which uses two connecting straps to carry you board. There is no pouch to store your board, but it still gets the job done. Because of the simplicity of the sling, it is also one of the cheapest. It also comes with a pack that you can wear about your waist when you hit the water shown in the picture above.

These are the top 3 SUP Slings we like, if you use any others slings for your SUP let us know and we will put them up.

Surfboard Carriers

Feb-28-2011 By Serious Surfer

14d51fe6f3e3b71 Surfboard CarriersThose who are fortunate to live close enough to walk to their favorite surfing spot, or those who must walk large distances after parking their vehicles, have many options that can help make walking long distances bearable with their surfboards and gear. Many options allow for hands free carrying, while others provide a more practical and less tiresome way to carry your surfboard rather than the traditional arm wrapping approach. The most practical way for one handed carrying is purchasing and using a surfboard bag. However, some these bags can be quite costly and are very limited to strict sizing. Meaning one bag per certain size of surfboard, or carrying becomes a little awkward or simply doesn’t fit. A cheaper and more versatile approach for those not wanting to dish out the cash for a proper bag is using some type of strap or sling system. One of my favorites slings is the sling from Curve shown below.

This is one of the more nicer slings I have seen and provides more support of your surfboard that most others. I do like the fact that it also has a carrying case embedded into the sling as well. Here is also a  popular one by FCS show below.

This bag also uses the same concept as the curve sling and also provides other storage space for other nick nacks. If you don’t like straps over your shoulders and you prefer to just carry your surfboard by hand check out this option.

As you can see, there are many different types of surfboard slings you can use to transport your surfboard to and from the beach. Obviously, the more simplistic the sling the cheaper they tend to be. If you are walking long distances to and from the beach it would perhaps be wise to invest in some type of surfboard carrier or surfboard sling to save your arm. This is especially true for all you long surfboard owners out there. I will post some other common surfboard slings next week as well.  And as always if you have any other slings that you are particular to, please comment below to share with others.
