We have already discuss at great lengths on this blog for our love for vertical surf racks as they the quickest and most effective way to store your quiver, especially if your a daily surfer and will be taken them on and off your racks a lot.

These stands are a quick and simple way to store one board. Block surf has three models which include the Block Surf Stick Stand Longboy, Block Surf Stick Stand Shortboy, and the Block Surf Stand Wall Model.

Both the Stick Stand Longboy and Shorty and free stand racks and are made from heavy duty quart inch steel. They will easily outlast any of your surfboards. Block Surf also has a wall model that bolts into the wall basically hiding the rack itself altogether and showing off your board. All Stick stands are fast and easy to use by simply sliding your board into the fin slot. The weight of the board is held but a bottom pad so as not to fret about your fin. Vertical Surf Racks are hands down one of the best way you can store and protect your surfboard. Not only are the the quickest way to store your quiver, but also the most convenient for any serious surfer. If you surf more a than once per week, a vertical surf rack can save you time, all the while still displaying your boards in style. Simply slide in your boards and your all set. Here are some of our favorite vertical surf racks on the market.

If you looking for a solid vertical rack, one of our favorites has to be from bordzup. This racks has a more modern look, compared to most made from wood, and also has a nice padded arm to help support your board. This rack gets our top vote because of it’s stability. Most other vertical racks simply have one point of contact and can slide out once bumped. The padding arm from bordzup helps to eliminate this problem, although expect to pay a premium.

The Venice racks are also one of our favorites. This rack comes in versions of 2,3, or 4 surfboards and can hold both your shortboards or longboards. You can simply mount the rack in any way that best will serve your quiver.

Another rack to be sure to check out is the vertical rack from T-Rax. (first picture shown). This rack is installed and works in the same way as the Venice rack. T-rax versions come in 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 rack versions.

Please not when using any type of vertical rack, we suggest having some type of pad in place for the base of your surfboard. This will keep the board free from scrapes and damage.Rubber floor mats are a great choice, as they are not effected by water.

I found these awesome do it yourself vertical surfboard racks that can be made for under $50 dollars. I think the vertical rack systems are the way to go for those of us with multiple surfboards that are used regularly. There is no better rack for ease of use and less hassle than the vertical rack. These vertical racks are definitely one of my favorite do it yourself projects. They also allow for easy expansion, for those who cant so no to another surfboard. I love the added eye hooks on the end of the dowels with the nylon to keep the surfboards in place. Surprisingly, to build these beauties you don’t need much. Here is what you need:

* a 2×4
* wood dowels (24″ per board)
* wood screws

These are the supplies for the more fancy racks.

* wood glue
* padding for the dowels
* padding for the boards’ tails
* a safety mechanism to hold the boards in place like hook and eye sets and nylon twine

Simple enough, I believe I read total build time was about 5 hours. Not to shabby for some quality racks.

There is more than one way to get your surfboard vertical!

This may be another way for some, vertical surfboard racks for you home. No other surfboard rack can match them when it comes to visual appeal. However, being low to the ground, like this surfboard rack can put them at risk for getting pretty banged up.  I have my very first surfboard in retirement sitting on a stand just like this one.

This rack is no longer sold by Hawaiian Gun Racks but their wood alternative can be found here: http://www.esurfboardracks.com/products/hawaiian-vertical-rack  as well as a ton of other nice racks.

Here is another one I really like that is designed specifically for the corner. The rack is also clear, which is nice for keeping the clean look. This rack can be found on Amazon.
